Vincent Frazzetta: Barbara / Facing Down Alzheimer’s

THE EXHIBITION:
Barbara…Alzheimer’s. The viewer knows the outcome of this story. In this exhibition, Vincent introduces one woman’s extraordinary struggle to live a decent life while facing down this murderous disease. With photographs and accompanying text, Vincent hopes the viewer will bond with Barbara, and learn something anew about grace under duress.
THE GALLERY:
Harwood, the outreach program of Escuela del Sol Montessori, is a creative center for community and the arts. Participating at a grassroots level, we work to build a sustainable and more vibrant local, statewide and regional community by using the arts as a catalyst for personal empowerment, cultural enrichment and social change.
We believe that equitable access to the arts is an integral part of a vibrant community, and our programs manifest this belief. We provide art education for all ages; community outreach projects and events; teaching and apprenticeship opportunities; and studios, exhibitions and professional development programs for both emerging and established artists.
Events and classes take place in our main building at the corner of Seventh Street and Mountain Road, at our art studios at the corner of Sixth Street and Mountain Road, and at many and varied locations around the neighborhood, city and state.
For over 40 years, Escuela del Sol, an independent Montessori school, has nurtured creativity, independence and academic excellence in pre-K through elementary aged children. Escuela’s Harwood Art Center expands the school’s philosophy to serve a broad audience of youth and adults with a variety of arts programs. Escuela and Harwood are dedicated to instilling a passion for lifelong learning, creative expression and positive impact on our world.
